Today, I volunteered with a couple of friends to help out the typhoon victims.
It was a really fun experience for me! :D
I got there at like 10:30. Drank coffee with Carla at Figaro for awhile. The others were late so we were free to roam around the area.
Nicky arrived so we went to Greenbelt and had a really nice lunch at Mary Grace Cafe.
Carla and I ordered their iced tea and a good serving of Tomato and Herbs Pasta! Really good, as always. I think Nicky had chowder soup[?] and salad. XD He also bought a chocnut hot drink there. XD Fun UBE session with friends. :D
*ehem* We decided to pass by the Ayala Museum cause Nicky mentioned that he knew someone working there. There was, apparently, an exhibit inside and we were able to go in for free! YAY! :D Complementary tickets. :D
The exhibit was full of traditional and digital art works! Really good, I must say! I think most of the artists there are children book artists cause of how they draw. They were mostly cartoonish. I loved their different styles, nonetheless.
We went back and checked out this awesome comic book place in Glorietta, before we ultimately went back to the donation drive area.
I kept on gawking at the Avengers art book. Damn it. I wish I had money. :(
Anyway, it was a tad bit awkward when people kept on staring at us while we were asking for donations. Come on, guys. Just give even just your spare coins inside your pockets. Those coins will be a big help. But yeah. Most people didn’t want to give, but whenever someone did give a little bit money, we would feel so happy. Hope for humanity!
Asking for donations is actually really hard cause most people will just totally ignore you cause they’d think it’s a scam. MEH.
Our huge water bottle filled up quite fast, actually. If we were to compare it to the one in SDA, this donation crowd is a whole lot better! More giving! We were also singing while asking for donations, btw. Alana and her guitar students were there, practicing before the event.
One thing I noticed, when I was just standing there and asking for donations, not making any eye contact, people just passed by as if they heard and saw nothing. But when I started talking to them like, “Ma’am, please help the victims of typhoon Sendong. Any amount will help,” people will give. You need the interaction with these people. Half-assed effort won’t do, apparently. :))
It was really tiring and fun. I was still a bit sick, btw. I’ve had this cold ever since finals and it just won’t go away. :( My throat hurts so Carla had to do all the shouting, at first. But she had to leave at one point cause she had to ask about the event after, and I had to catch people’s attention all by myself. Thankfully, Carlos was there to help me out so I wasn’t really alone, I guess.
Totally had fun today! I was supposed to co-host the event with Carla but I had to leave early. Dunno what happened after. :))
T’was my tito’s birthday and we celebrated it by eating shabu-shabu. FOOD COMA.
Absolutely delicious! :D
Went to the Mall of Asia and rode the Mall of Asia Eye and played around the place. I tried this wowowheels thing and it was really fun, just don’t mind its name. :P
Apparently, I was going too fast. But sir, where is the thrill if I do not go fast, right? :D
Adrenaline rush! :D
Chu guys should totes try and go to the bayside part of the Mall of Asia! Totes fun! :D
That’s about it!
I am le tired and in need of a good long sleep. :D
